Yarı insan, yarı titan Prometheus’un tanrılardan çalıp da insanlara verdiği ateş çok canlar yaktı.
Gene insan eli ile çok insan yok etti…
Belki de yarısından fazlasını yaşayan insanların…
Ama bu Prometheus’un suçu değildi ki…
O, insanların bilgisi gelişsin diye vermişti bilgiyi ve ateşi…
Bunun cezası,
Zeus tarafından Demirci Tanrı Hephaistos eli ile
zincirlenmektir Kafkas Dağları’ndaki kayalıklara.
Ve Zeus’un yeni dünyadan getirttiği kartallar tarafından yenmektir ciğeri…
Herhalde hâlâ yeniyordur, kim bilir;
ve belki de böyle ödenmektedir
bilginin ve ateşin insanoğluna verilmesinin cezası…

The fire stolen from the Gods and bestowed to men by half man, half titan Prometheus
caused many souls to suffer…
Maybe more than half of the living people…
But surely this was not Prometheus’ fault.
He gave the fire and the knowledge to mankind to develop their intelligence…
